Settling in to Ruby Class

Updated: Oct 17

The Reception and Nursery children have all made an excellent start to their school journey here at St John's. Have a look at some of the wonderful learning we have experienced so far!

Practising our mark making and fine motor skills to create patterns with pens, pom poms and buttons.

Enjoying 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' with large foam balls during a P.E. lesson.

Taking advantage of the sunshine, we went on a nature hunt for matching objects. We loved singing songs outside, making lots of funny noises with our voices.

Using our gross motor skills to follow the story of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' within a yoga session.

Reviewing the objects from our 'red or squashy' hunt. We found two objects that fit into both groups, so we created a real life Venn diagram!

This is just a snapshot of our learning so far - we are so busy here in Ruby class and each day we celebrate the individual and group learning of each child. Keep checking our website each week to keep up to date on our successes and discoveries.
