Ruby's church visit

A special part of our school community is St. John’s Church, so it was a delight for our Reception children to have a guided tour with our vicar, Mother Mitzi.

Wearing our Hi-Viz jackets, we walked carefully in pairs along Theobalds Park Road, waving happily to buses, vans, and cars. We were thrilled to get lots of friendly honks in return!

When we reached the church, the children were fascinated by the colourful autumn leaves in the church garden. We noticed that the leaves on these trees were different from the ones at school, which made exploring them even more fun.

Just as we arrived, the church bells began to ring—a wonderful surprise! Mother Mitzi shared that they ring only for very special visitors, and we were all excited to point out the tall steeple where the bells live.

Inside, we enjoyed a special tour around the church. We loved singing "Thank You, Lord, For This Fine Day," with musical instruments adding to the joy. Mother Mitzi also showed us beautiful artwork, and we had fun spotting all the crosses in different places around the church.

We’re grateful for the warm and memorable welcome to our school church, and we look forward to many more visits filled with discovery and joy in the future.
